Mission:

To promote culturally competent counselors who provided culturally effective counseling. We are committed to working with parents, schools, agencies, and other community bodies who serve varying ethnic groups.

Purpose:

To promote a greater understanding of ethnic groups among members of the counseling and development professions.

To improve standards and delivery of counseling and development services provided to ethnic groups.

To identify and work to eliminate conditions which create barriers to the individual development of ethnic groups.

To develop, implement, and/or foster interest in scientific, educational, and charitable programs designed to further the interests of ethnic groups.

To secure quality of treatment, advancement, and status of ethnic groups in counseling and development work.

To facilitate a broader awareness of multicultural counseling among the helping professions.

To develop and improve counselor education and training in multicultural and cross cultural counseling.
